Choosing costumes for the parade this year, my saucy sidekick twin sister, Cindy Daniel decided we would wear twin outfits. Wendy Wortham TCGPWA with Texas Twins Events I’m planning to get video of the parade for the association to upload to their website. For several years, my team and I have supported our many friends in the LBGT Community by attending this event. Texas Twins Events/ Pawning Planners team members look forward to Pride Week activities every year and seeing old friends.
Little Pawners, Maryssa and Makenna dress alike everyday and are planning to be pink fairies wings and all.Maryssa and Makenna don’t plan on being fairies for Halloween however because this years “outfit” will be a sweet fox costume- they love animals and want to own a pet store much to my sister’s dismay since she doesn’t want “more monkeys at her zoo!” The DanielDivaDiggs is a pet free household.
Ironically, Cindy used to allow pets all the time and the problem was after about two weeks my phone would ring with my sister complaining that she couldn’t handle all these kids AND pets too! You see, the WorthamWorld mascot and family pet, Foxy Wortham was actually a DanielDivaDiggs pet that chewed up shoes and Cindy has a rule that “neither man nor beast can destroy a project around here!” Instead, DanielDivaDigs have numerous stuffed animals and toys for Maryssa and Makenna. While dogs are allowed to the parade, cats are not so my hyper dog, Foxy Wortham will not be attending the festivities. For more information please visit Tarrant County Pride As I prepare my motley crew of adventurers aka The Texas Twins Events/Pawning Planners Team for the parade this weekend amongst “what are we wearing questions,” my answer is short and simple Loud and Proud. Dressing for the parade will include “Sweet Fox” costumes for our Little Pawners and loads of make up for the older kids who love a parade as much as I do. New team members that are “first timers” this year will include past and previous couples along with with family friends Tammi Leggett and her daughter, Samantha. After a lawsuit was filed last year regarding freedom of speech by an evangelist, I’m hoping that his being allowed to “speak freely” at an event that is deemed a celebration by not only the LBGT community but the family and friends of these folks who aren’t LBGT but are there to support friends and family will not be subjected to the ramblings of someone who wants to be at an event that he does not condone and be “speaking freely” at it to boot!
My parade entry (29) will be directly behind my dear friends from the Rainbow Lounge will I’m very much looking forward to and want to thank the TCGPWA for accommodating my request in order for my surrogate mom, Virginia Malone to not have to worry about marching the entire length of our parade route.
Next year promises to be one of the biggest parades for the TCGPWA with a celebration of their 35th anniversary and my team is looking forward to being a part of history with our friends and families from Fort Worth, Texas!Love Wins and for Texans celebrating this event I’m hoping that protestors don’t “spoil the fun for everyone.”
