You know when you work with your family- there are bound to be a few “head butts” going on now and again.
Normally, arguments among my motley crew originate with the older children, Robert & Stephanie Hafele, Stephaney Mahaney, Leigh Ann Blais have their own “ideas and opinions” regarding radio stations, restaurants and even directions to a venue! This morning, as I prepare everyone with my usual round of lists and requests for a remote Parker County Wedding, I (as usual) ask who is driving their own vehicle in order to mentally prepare how I will pack and rearrange my own SUV to accommodate the list of passengers. The Little Pawners will be staying behind at this event due to being on the Brazos River and their extreme allergies that can trigger an asthma attack. Steve Daniel, my hilarious brother in law will be coming with the team because he enjoys meeting new friends and often “misses out” on the adventure when out of town working for Frachtec.
Cindy Daniel, my twin sister is thrilled that this event has a casual dress code and will most likely be bringing her own SUV.Cindy and I are far from being “Diva’s” we don’t care where we are eating and the only caveat my twin sister has is her requirement of having Fresh Coffee at drive Thru’s or dives.
If her Cindy’s doesn’t turn a beautiful mocha brown with two creamers- look out buddy because Cindy will embarrass everyone (including me) by demanding that a fresh pot be brewed.
Yesterday at Braum’s my twin asked if the coffee was fresh and was quite disappointed that “it was so old that it must have been made last week” as I sighed and waited on a fresh pot to he brewed, I asked what’s the big deal? Coffee is coffee. Cindy is usually very low maintenance regarding everything else during the Travels of the Texas Twins but, even Cindy has her quirky “must have list.”My niece Leigh Ann HATES drive thru fast food restaurants and prefers a “real restaurant.” Because of this- my convoy of Texas Twins Events/Pawning Planners vehicles often “split up” if we are making a pit stop during a road trip. As we head into the holiday season, Cindy and I have decided to try a new diet of protein with fresh fruit and vegetables that can often be found at any fast food restaurant and while it’s difficult to eat a salad and drive- we enjoy sitting inside a fast food restaurant and taking a break from driving. With cooler weather coming through Texas, this outdoor wedding with family and friends is going to be fun. I’m bringing a few dishes to this “pot luck affair” myself and looking forward to my very first wrdding on a river. Rebecca has warned me that the “bathroom” is a bucket on a rope which she thought would make me nervous- I laughed and said “no problem, weddings are an adventure and I’m. Not a Diva” I meant it too and can’t wait to see this Redneck Reality Restroom myself.
