Wendy Wortham- Why “Old School” Often Works Better Than Your Cell Phone…

Recently, a Groom had saved his handwritten vows to his cell phone.  While it’s true that I encourage couples to add an “emotional element” to their ceremony, I always instruct them to do so with a pen and paper because this isn’t  “my first rodeo ya all!”

When a Groom informed me he didn’t have his handwritten vows because they were on his cell phone and the phone had died, I had to “wing it” to overcome the hurdle by asking him what were the most important things he wanted to express and guide him through an “awkward moment.”

You see, couples are often nervous in front of a “crowd” and somewhat panicked about speaking before their friends and family- I’m not after a lifetime of public speaking and selling, this Texas Twin never lets a “bump in the road” ruin the moment at weddings and events.

While the Groom was relieved, the Bride was less than happy regarding a detail that could have easily been averted by simply writing the script of handwritten vows on paper.  Couples have everyone under the sun calling cell phones for directions and last minute items and often they have no battery left on their phone by the time the ceremony begins.  Texas Twins Events  Team members often pack “extras” that may be overlooked including ring pillows, flower baskets and bouquets because we’ve been in situations where something unexpected happened.

No money? No Problem!  Pawning Planners When my Team and I arrive “on the scene” we come prepared for the unexpected because we’ve learned to expect the unexpected.  I have created an inventory to address most any need at events including bouquets, boutenniers, corsages and centerpieces.  Why? To give couples the beauty of a “real Life Event.”  You see, running off to get married without the “extras” lacks the pizazz that these “extras” bring.

When I write a thank you note, it isn’t in an email.  Instead, I use stationary and the postal service because I’m “old school.”  Occasionally, electronics can and will “let you down” but, if you have a seasoned public speaker- we can work together to overcome the occasional “bump in the road.” Texas Twins TV For every small and unexpected disaster, we work hard to find a solution and keep your day your way!
